What’s the first thing you do when you get to work? Read emails & review my schedule for the day.
Coffee or tea? Coffee
Have you read any good books lately? I listen to books on Audible on my 1.5-hour commute into work. My latest was The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines. I love everything about this family and their values in life and business.
What is your favorite season in Texas? Fall
How have you progressed since joining Twin Hill? I think planning’s biggest progression has been the implementation of TXT Demand Planning software. We’ve learned so much and are now able to manage the insane # of SKUs in a fraction of the time it took us to analyze and forecast in Excel. However, my Excel skills have also progressed tremendously, thanks to Steve Akins and Richard Irwin.
What are your main responsibilities? Inventory planning.
Which part of your job do you enjoy the most? Analyzing sales
What is the most challenging part of your job? After coming to Twin Hill from a Retail buying position, I learned quickly how challenging the uniform business can be. Mostly how difficult it is to be in stock in all sizes without holding too much inventory.
What’s your favorite food? Chicken Fajitas
What’s your favorite sports team? Any team @ The University of Alabama (see #17).
What department is your role under? Planning
What makes your team different than others? We are a very small close group who doesn’t hesitate to jump in and help one another out when needed.
How would you describe your team in three words? Dedicated, smart, hard-working
Outside of work, do you have any hobbies or interests? I enjoy working out but find it difficult to make the time these days. I have three little girls (7, 5, & 3), so spending time with them is my #1 priority outside of work.
What has been the highlight of your career at Twin Hill so far? It’s difficult to pinpoint one moment. But I must say the highlight of working for TH has been having leaders who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get dirty. It motivates me to work harder when I see management working as hard as their employees.
What is one thing that most people do not know about you? I majored in Apparel Design and love to sew/draw/paint or do anything creative. Some people also might not know I was also a former All-American softball pitcher for The University of Alabama (1999-2002).
If you could be anywhere (other than the office) right now, where would you be? At home with my family.
What’s the best vacation spot? Texas Hill Country or the Caribbean
What will you do when you get home today? Make dinner and go for a bike ride with my kids & husband.
